Workshop on human rights awareness programme at Chamba
Chamba, Jul 3 (UNI) National Human Rights Commissioner S Rajinder Babu today called upon the human rights implementing agencies, judiciaries, facilitators and government officers for creating awareness among the people about there rights so that they could enjoy them and act accordingly.
In his inaugural address on the occasion of a three-day long workshop on Human Rights Awareness and Facilitating Assessment and Execution of Human Rights here said that there is a dire need for protection of human rights so that people could feel secure.
He said that government departments should extend full cooperation to the commission in implementation of human rights and human rights issues should be addressed on priority.
Earlier, Mr Babu was honoured with shawl and Himachali cap on the occasion.
