Two NHAI engineers abducted in Assam
Guwahati, Jul 03 (UNI) Two engineers, employed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), and a local person were abducted from Serphanguri area in Assam's Bongaigaon district today, police said.
The two engineers were employees of the Gayatri construction firm, an engineers' and construction firm engaged by the NHAI.
The NHAI is engaged in four-lane construction of National Highway in Assam as well as the rest of the country.
The Bodo militants of NDFB and now-disbanded BLT as well as Kamtapur militants are active in the area from where the trio was kidnapped.
However, police refused to confirm which group was behind the abduction, while the Gayatri construction firm officials could not be contacted.
