Two dead, 7 injured in Jammu road mishaps

Jammu, July 3 (UNI) At least two people died and seven others got injured in different road mishaps in Jammu region during the last 24 hours, police here today said.

''A driver of the truck, which was on its way from Batote to Jammu, died on the spot when the truck rolled down near Kalra College Pachote on National Highway,'' police told UNI adding that the deceased has been identified as Girdhari Lal, a resident of Bakshi Nagar here.

However, a motorcyclist died on the spot when he was hit by a tanker near Shaitani Nallah in tehsil Banihal of Ramban district.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Amrit Yaqoob Kurubilla, a resident of Subrajh.

Meanwhile, seven people sustained injuries in different road accidents in Jammu city and outskirts.
