Train services disrupted by VHP supporters

Barrackpore, Jul 3 (UNI) Train services in the Sealdah division of Eastern Railway were disrupted this morning following the 'Bharat Bandh' called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) issue.

In North 24 Parganas, bandh supporters raised blockade at Barasat junction near the district headquarters, disrupting train services in Sealdah-Bangaon and Barasat-Hasnabad sections as well as Madhyamgram railway station.

The blockade was lifted at 0845 hours after police apprehended a few of the bandh supporters, railway officials said.

Train services in the main section was also partially disrupted as BJP workers raised blockade at Kankinara in North 24 Parganas and Ranaghat junction in Nadia.
