Titan expects 30 per cent revenue growth for FY09

Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) TATA group's watch and jewellery subsidiary Titan Industries Limited expects a revenue growth of 30 per cent from its Titan brand watches in the current fiscal.

The company is planning to launch at least 250 to 300 watch models under the brand name during the year, Titan's Chief Operating Officer-Watches Harish Bhat told reporters on the sidelines of a conference for the announcement of its rebranding, here today.

''There will be at least 10 new collections with a wider range of watches for different segments including casual, sport and accessories,'' he said.

The Company usually introduces on an average, 150-200 models in a year that would be increased simultaneously during the year in order to cater to a wider range of choice for the customers under the brand with a new tagline -- ''Titan-be more''. It has about 1,300 models now, he asserted.

Watch sales grew by just over 18 per cent in FY08, and had a market share of about 65 per cent in the India's watch retail organised sector, he added.
