Three held, fake currency seized

Vijayawada, Jul 3 (UNI) The city poilce today arrested three people, on charges of producing fake currency for purchasing some articles and seized an amount of Rs 1,15,400, including some original notes, from them.

Speaking at a press conference here, City West Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) L Vijay Kumar said the trio Muklesh Alias Reja, Kabeer Hussain and S K Janeewool, all hailing from West Bengal, reached the city on June 26. They had fake currency of Rs 1,20,000, given by one Babar, Kabeer Hussain's relative.

Later, they stayed in a hotel here and started circulating the fake currency.

During interrogation, one of them Mukelesh confessed the names of his two accomplices and their place of stay. Later, police raided the hotel, where they were staying and apprehended the other two culprits.

The accused were produced before a local court later in the day, he added.
