Aarushi case: SC dismisses plea against narco test
New Delhi, Jul 3: The Supreme Court on Thursday, July 3, refused to entertain a PIL questioning the legality of methods being adopted by CBI in the investigation of Aarushi-Hemraj murder case.
A vacation bench comprising Justices Altamas Kabir and G S Singhvi questioned the locus Standi of the petitioner organisation namely All India Lawyers Joint Action Committee.The petitioner organisation has contended that the methods such as lie detector test, narco test and others are illegal and fall in the category of third degree methods and cannot be employed in the investigation of a criminal case.The apex court, however, permitted the petitioner to withdraw the petition.
