Rs 8 lakh looted from bank in Bathinda
Bathinda, Jul 3 (UNI) Armed robbers looted over Rs eight lakh from the State Bank of Patiala in Parshuram Nagar here today.
Three armed robbers locked the bank staff and the customers in a room, looted cash amounting to Rs eight lakh and fled away with the booty, police sources said.
The security guard posted at the bank had gone out for something when the robbers struck. Also, the bank alarm was not functional at that time, the sources said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Naunihal Singh said police had set up checkposts at various exit points in the city to track down the culprits.
