Mild tremor felt in South Goa
Panaji, Jul 3 (UNI) A mild tremor of 1.9 magnitude on the Richter scale was experienced in the mining belt of Sanguem taluk of South Goa today, causing damage to two structures.
Met office here said the tremor, with its epicentre at Valkini, was recorded at 1208 hrs and it lasted for 47 seconds.
District collector G P Naik told UNI that he had received a report that a primary school in the talkuk has developed a crack and a dargha's roof had fallen. However, no casualty was reported.
There were no reports of damage to a dam, which is 10 km away, above the area in Karnataka, he added.
