Madhavan's aide Alikannu surrenders

Kochi, Jul 3 (UNI) Saiffudin Alikannu, aide of fake Godman Santhosh Madhavan and second accused in a cheating case, surrendered before the Crime Branch here today.

Saiffudin was the second accused after Madhavan in a case pertaining to cheating a Non-Resident Keralite Sarafin Edwin of four lakh Dirhams.

A Crime Branch official said Alikannu would be produced before the court tomorrow.

The Crime Branch was investigating two cases registered against Madhavan -- the cheating case and misappropriation of funds and illegal land transactions made under the auspices of the Santhitheeram Trust floated by the fake swami.

Madhavan was arrested on charges of rape and cheating in May.
