Largest edible crab caught in British waters
London, July 3 : A diver has caught the largest edible crab in British waters.
Paul Worsley, a resident of Aylesbury, has revealed that the crab he caught measured 12 inches across, one inch wider than the previous world record holder, whose shell is preserved in the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
According to him, the 17lb (7.7kg) king of crabs was found on the wreck of a ship called the Empress of India ten miles off Lyme Bay in Dorset.
Worsley said that he got surprised when he saw it.
"It put up quite a fight," Times Online quoted him as saying.
