HC notice to Haryana on land acquisition

Chandigarh, Jul 3 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High court today issued notice to the Haryana government for acquiring land in village Haiderpur, Gurgaon that allegedly belonged to Emaar MGF among others.

The division bench of Justice M M Kumar and Justice Mrs Sabina issued a notice for July 8 after the preliminary hearing on a writ petition filed among others by prominent builder Emaar MGF against the February 22, 2007 notification for acquiring their land in village Haiderpur, Gurgaon.

It has been argued by the petitioner companies that the proposed acquisition of land purchased by them would adversely affect their building projects in the area.

Also, the acquisition authorities have excluded from proposed acquisition, the land belonging to other builders like DLF and Ansals in the adjoining area.

The state government has mentioned in the notification that the land was being acquired for setting up residential sectors 52-A, 53 and 54.
