Fresh batch of pilgrims leaves for Amarnath despite curfew

Jammu, Jul 3 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2,081 pilgrims today left for the Amarnath cave shrine of Lord Shiva in south Kashmir Himalayas despite curfew in the entire city and complete shut down in all other parts of the region.

The batch, including 387 women and 46 children, left in a convoy of 50 buses, two trucks and 14 LMVs at around 0515 hrs, an official spokesman said.

The convoy was escorted by security personnel.
