CT Group to offer RAI's PG programme in Retail Management
Jalandhar, Jul 3 (UNI) To provide suitable talent to the growing retail sector, Retailers Association of India (RAI) has selected city-based CT Group of Institutions to run PG in Retail Management.
Talking to media persons here yesterday, RAI CEO Gibson G Vedamani said,''Modern retailing in India is witnessing a transformation with the emergence of department stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets, speciality stores and malls and with this phenomenal growth, the demand for quality manpower is also rapidly increasing.'' To respond to the growing demand for ready manpower in retail, RAI is offering the Post Graduate Programme in Retail Management (PGPRM) through 15 chosen business schools all over the country, he said adding that duration of this course would be of 18 months and six months of internship in a member company.
''These B-Schools have been selected with meticulous attention to every detailed parameter and CT Group is the only institute in North Western region to provide retail education in association with RAI,'' he said.
''The objective of the PGPRM programme is to provide students with high level of knowledge and understanding of concepts and processes involved in retailing and to equip them with the operational and analytical skills necessary for professional career in the retail sector,'' Mr Vedamani said.
''A pool of faculty members from the retail sector have prepared the course content and they will deliver the guest lectures in these parterning B-Schools, so that the students can get to have a meaningful interface with the right industry resources,'' he added.
CT Group of Institutions chairman Charanjit Singh Channi said, ''Alongwith providing techincal education, we have tied up with the RAI to provide assured jobs to every students who will opt this course and accordingly the students will find placement in RAI's member organisations.''
