ACB awaits GSFC nod to prosecute tainted officials
Surat, Jul 3 (UNI) The local anti-corruption department has sought permission from state-owned GSFC to prosecute certain GSFC officers who are embroiled in graft cases.
The ACB had, six years back, detected a fraud committed by Mamadev Mills. The mill owner, Mukesh Oswal, had cheated the GSFC by securing a loan of Rs 4 crore by submitting forged documents relating to his property. Some GSFC officers had allegedly connived with Oswal to secure the loan.
A second such case was also detected. In this case, a person by name Gokulprasad Pandey, owner of Shabnam Process, had secured a loan of Rs 76 lakh from the GSFC in a similar fashion.
According to investigating officer S M Patel, most GSFC top officials are involved in these frauds.
