Train services in ECoR cancelled till Jul 10.

Bhubaneswar, Jul 2 (UNI) The East Coast Railways(ECoR) today decided to extend the cancellation of nearly 42 pairs of trains under its division to July 10.

Train services were badly affected following a number of breaches between Balasore- Kharagpur Railway section under South Eastern Railway forcing the ECoR to cancel, short terminate and divert several long distance trains from June 17.

According to a release from the ECoR, the train operations schedule given earlier for cancellation, diversion and short termination of train services up to July three has been extended till July 10 as per the decision of the Ministry of Railways.

However, the ministry has decided to resume 2838/2837 Puri-Howrah-Puri Express on its normal route from July three on both directions for the convenience of travelling public.

Similarly, the 8005/8006 Howrah-Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express will be resumed on its normal route from July five from both directions.

The Railway administration, sources said, has been working round the clock in war footing basis to resume train services on Howrah-Chennai main line which has been paralysed following the breaches caused by incessant rains and floods in North Orissa and West Bengal.

East Coast Railway had decided to run 56 special trains from different parts of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh for the convenience of pilgrims and passengers and to cater to extra rush of passengers during Rath Yatra at Puri.
