Physiotherapy College to be set up in Panchkula

Chandigarh, Jul 12 (UNI) A Physiotherapy College will be set up at Saket Hospital in Panchkula district for which a No Objection Certificate has already been issued to the Haryana Saket Council by the Haryana government.

The decision was taken in a Joint Meeting of the Executive Committee and Annual General Meeting of the Haryana Saket Council which was held at Haryana Raj Bhavan here today under the chairmanship of Governor Kidwai in the presence of the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official spokesman said today.

The Governor, who is also the President of the Council, said the College would be started from the current session, 2008-09 and the Course of Bachelor in Physiotherapy would be taken up from this Session. The rest of the courses such as Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Bachelor in Occupational Therapy and Post-Graduate Degree Courses in these subjects would be started in due course of time.

This College would be affiliated to the newly created Medical University in Rohtak.
