Muslims express gratitude to Maya for opposing nuke deal
Lucknow, July 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today received a shot in her arm when several Muslim clerics thanked her for opposing the Nuclear deal and supporting the Muslim sentiments.
The clerics, representing both from the Shia and Sunni sects, met Ms Mayawati at her residence and thanked for her 'bold' step for the community.
They had jointly conveyed to her that they were with the BSP and urged the Chief Minister to prevent the ''anti-national'' nuclear deal with US.
The clerics, who met her included Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, Maulana Hamidul Hasan, Nayab Imam Idgah Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangimahali, Imam Tile Wali masjid Mualana Fazlurrehman, Maulana Naimurrehman, Maulana Aleem Faroquee, Sayeed Aijaz Ahmed.
Yesterday, Ms Mayawati had condemned the nuclear deal and said it was ''anti-Muslim''.
