Municipal Secretary and his wife shot dead

Patna, Jul 2 (UNI) Municipal Secretary and senior officer of the capital city Manjar Alam and his wife were shot dead at their residence under Phulwari police station area in the wee hours today.

Police said the assailants attacked Mr Alam's residence at Haroon Nagar locality and opened fire on the officer and his wife, killing the couple on the spot.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and started investigation.

Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar told mediapersons that a special team had been constituted to nab the miscreants.

The motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained, he added.
