Madhava Chakyar cremated with State honours

Thrissur, Jul 2 (UNI) Noted Koodiyatta Acharya Ammanur Madhava Chakyar, who died here last night, was cremated with State honours in the courtyard of his residence at Iringalakkuda this afternoon.

Kerala Revenue Minister K P Rajendran represented the State Government to pay homage to the departed artist. People from all walks of life also bid farewell to their favourite acharya.

Madhava Chakyar (91), was also a recipient of many honours, including the Padmashree and Padma Bhushan.
