31 people get life imprisonment for murder

Madhubani, Jul 02 (UNI) A fast track court awarded rigorous life imprisonment to 31 people, including a woman, in a murder case.

All the convicts were also slapped fine, varying from Rs 3000 to Rs 7000.

Justice Ajay Shukla of the fast track court awarded life imprisonment to the people after they were found guilty of killing Rajendra Das and his son Shyam Das-- residents of Bansbaria village under Saharghat Police Station in Madhubani district.

According to the charges, the convicts were involved in killing of a father and son who were burnt alive following an altercation over providing fodder to a buffalo at Bansbaria village on April 5, 1997.
