VHP to organise motorcycle rally tomorrow
Nashik, July 1 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has organised a motorcycle rally from Kalaram temple here tomorrow to protest withdrawal of Union government's decision to allot 40 hectares of land to the Amarnath shrine.
''VHP appeals to all the Hindus and even Muslims, who want the country to remain united, to participate in the programme,'' Eknath Shetye, Western Maharashtra President of VHP told mediapersons here today.
''VHP will observe 'Bharat bandh' on July 3 in protest of the Amarnath shrine land row. The bandh has been called to protest the government's Muslim appeasement policy and to exhibit the Hindu unity,'' Mr Shetye said.
He condemned the stoppage of Amarnath pilgrimage, due to agitation by Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir rally, regarding the land row. VHP, alongwith Bajrang Dal, has appealed the government to restart the Amarnath pilgrimage and hand over the Amarnath land to the pilgriamge committee, he said. ''In case, this not done we will not allow anyone to undertake Haj pilgrimage,'' he said.
