Two infiltrators, Army officer killed, hideout busted in J
Srinagar, Jul 1 (UNI) An Army officer and two infiltrators were killed while security forces unearthed a hideout and recovered huge caches of arms and ammunition in the Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official sources said today.
They said troops guarding Line of Control (LoC) at Roshi post near Karnah sector noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from across the border.
They said when challenged and asked to surrender, militants opened fire. Troops also retaliated and in the fierce encounter two militants were killed.
An army subedar also laid down his life, they said adding one Ak rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
Sources said a hideout was busted at Dhelera in Poonch district of Jammu region. The arms and ammunition recovered included eight hand grenades, four magazines, about 600 rounds of ammunition and one antenna. However, no one was arrested.
