Shvipuri sees surge in tourist inflow

Shivpuri, MP, July 1 (UNI) Famous and ancient tourist spots in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a surge of visitors after a gap of three-four years courtesy good rains in June.

Springs, lakes and other water reservoirs have revived and forest become lush green pulling tourists from nearby districts of Guna, Gwalior, Sheopur, Ashoknagar and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, Lalitpur, Agra and other districts.

There has been a significant jump in number of visitors for boating and motorboat ride in Sakhya Sagar Lake of the Madhav National Park, which is unique in the sense that it remains open throughout monsoon unlike other national parks and sanctuaries.

Flow of tourists had come down in the past three-four years as water reservoirs dried up or had very little water due to less rainfall.
