Shivpuri sees surge in tourist inflow
Shivpuri, MP, Jul 1 (UNI) Famous ancient tourist spots in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh are witnessing a surge of visitors after a gap of four years, due to good rains last month.
Springs, lakes and other water reservoirs are revived and forests have become lush green, attracting tourists from nearby districts of Guna, Gwalior, Sheopur, Ashoknagar and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, Lalitpur, Agra and other districts.
There has been a significant jump in the number of visitors interested in boating and motorboat-ride in Sakhya Sagar Lake of the Madhav National Park. The park is unique, since it remains open throughout the monsoons unlike other national parks and sanctuaries.
Flow of tourists had come down in the past three-four years as water reservoirs had dried up or had very little water due to less rainfall.
