Mouchel appointed infrastructure consultants

Kochi, Jul 1(UNI) SmartCity Kochi, a joint venture company between SmartCity, Dubai, and the Kerala Government, today announced the appointment of multinational Mouchel as the infrastructure consultants.

In a press release issued here, Mr Fareed Abdulrahman, SmartCity CEO and Board Member of SmartCity Kochi and SmartCity Malta, said Mouchel would develop and deliver advanced intricate infrastructure that would set a new benchmark for India.

''The state-of-the-art infrastructure that SmartCity Kochi will provide will be unique and create the ideal location where knowledge is placed at the fingertips of local, regional and international companies,'' he added.

All construction consultants for SmartCity's projects will be directed to incorporate LEED(R) - the world's premier certification programme for sustainable buildings - guidelines in the design and implementation of its infrastructure, he said.

SmartCity Kochi has already been promoted as a premier IT destination at exhibitions in New Delhi and London, he said.

SmartCity Kochi, a joint venture promoted by Dubai Holding members, TECOM Investments and SAMA Dubai, and the Kerala Government, is expected to create 90,000 jobs.

It is to be designed as a self-sustaining township for knowledge-based companies.
