Srinagar, Jul 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will prove his majority in the Legislative Assembly on July 7.
An official spokesman said that in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under Section 53 of the Constitution, Governor N N Vohra has summoned the Legislative Assembly to meet for a day at Srinagar on Monday, the July 7, 2008 at 1000 hrs for a Special Session.
Mr Azad had yesterday written a letter to Mr Vohra informing him that he will prove his majority in the House. The Chief Minister had said he still enjoyed support of a majority of the members even after the withdrawal of support by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Vohra had asked Mr Azad to prove his majority by July seven.
