Incessant rain over night lashes Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 1 (UNI) Though the city experienced downpour since fortnight, rain lashed out here and the adjoining areas continuously over night affecting the transport system.

According to the reports reaching here from various parts of the city, road traffic has been affected due to water logging at several parts of Eastern and Western Express Highway but they were not completely out of gear till the last reports came in.

Though the trains on all the three railway lines -- Western, Central and Harbour -- were delayed, the services continued on the tracks.

Flights at domestic and international airports were delayed by 15 to 20 minutes. If the weather conditions continued, there may be poor visibility, a official from airport authority said.

The day to day operations in the financial capital of the country were carried on with delay.
