Husband shaves wife's head

Kangra, Jul 1 (UNI) A man in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh got his wife's head shaved following a quarrel between the two on dowry, police today said.

Kangra SP Atul Fulzele said Sonia Kumari (21), wife of Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Donga Bazar locality of Kangra town, had lodged a complaint against her husband for getting her head shaved last evening following a dispute over dowry.

In her complaint, she alleged that her husband was demanding dowry and on this issue they had a quarrel. Following the heated argument between them, the husband called a barber and got her head shaved.

The woman's husband and the barber, identified as Tek Chand, have been arrested under sections 498 A, 342, 355, 509, 323 and 120 B of the IPC and investigation are on.
