CLP objects to TDP leader's remarks against CM
Hyderabad, July 1 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today took strong objections to the remarks of Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Leader T Srinivas that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would be sent to 'jail' if TDP returns to power.
Addresing a press conference along with Council Member K Janardhana Reddy and State Youth Congress President TJR Sudhakara Babu, Legislative Council Member R Padmaraju alleged that the TDP leader was making objectional remarks against the Chief Minister only to appease his leader Chandrababu Naidu for his survival in the party.
Stating that Mr Naidu was involved in several illegal transactions, including power projects agreement, IMFL scam, illegal land transactions and irregularities in food-for-work programme, during the TDP regime, he said the TDP leaders had no right to comment on Dr Reddy when he was working for the development of the state.
He said the state government had taken up 'Jalayagnam' by spending crores of rupees to provide irrigated and drinking water to the remote areas in the state.
The government had taken up several welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor and backward classes people in the state, he claimed.
