BJS hits out at Finance Minister on prices
Tiruchirapalli, Jul 1: Bharatiya Jana Shakti's national vice-president T Guhan has criticised Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's 'poor' handling of the country's finances and demanded his immediate resignation accepting moral responsibility for not controlling prices and the resultant inflation.
Addressing the press here last night, Mr Guhan wanted AICC president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to step down from both the posts for the same reason.
He wanted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to appoint a patriotic person as the new Finance Minister.
The Union Government should take steps expeditiously to bring down the price hike on petroleum products immediately as it would pave way for further increase in prices of essential commodities.
The Union Government should also take speedy measures for revival of Pudukkottai Lok Sabha Constituency which was done away with under the recent delimitation drill.
Mr Guhan also expressed concern over proposals to increase interest rate on housing loans.
