BJP welcomes HP's move to set up central university at Dehra

Shimla, Jul 1 (UNI) The BJP today welcomed the state government's proposal to set up Central University at Dehra in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, saying it would accelerate the pace of development in the area, which had remained an under developed area until now.

"Since Dehra is centrally located in the state's biggest district of Kangra and is well connected from all sides, the decision to set up a university there is welcome", a party spokesman said in a release here.

Besides, he said, the pace of development would accelerate in the area, which otherwise had remained an under developed over the years.

Mr Dhumal had recently announced that it had proposed to set up the central university at Dehra in Kangra district, where it had identified suitable place for its establishment.
