BJP to use Amarnath row to revive Hindutva vote bank

{image-Violence in kashmir_01072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Bhopal, Jul 1: After Ram Setu, controversy on the mythical bridge believed to have been built by Lord Rama, the land transfer issue in Kashmir to the Amarnath shrine board has emerged as BJP's major Hindutva plank to campaign against the Congress-led governments at the Centre as well as in the Valley.

Bharatia Janata Party (BJP) president, Rajnath Singh has threatened that if the land is not transferred to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) his party "will take the issue all across the country"

The party has also got two popular Hindu spiritual leaders, Baba Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, to endorse the campaign as the both of them shared the stage here with BJP and Sangh leaders for the launch of the Hindi version of BJP's Leader of Opposition L K Advani's autobiography The Hindi version of “My Country My Life" was released by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. He and Baba Ramdev also endorsed Advani's prime ministerial candidature by saying that he could build the country's future.

The Opposition party, having gone into full scale election mode, has called a meeting of its senior leaders in Delhi on Tuesday to chalk out how it will take the campaign ahead on the Amarnath Shrine Board issue. The party has sharply criticized the Congress-led government in Srinagar for revoking the orders to transfer land to build facilities for the growing number of Amarnath yatris.
