BGR bags Rs 3,100 cr contract from TNEB
Chennai, July 1 (UNI) BGR Energy Systems Limited has bagged a Rs 3,100 crore EPC contract for a 600 MW power project from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).
The work involves the expansion of the existing 4 x 210 MW thermal power project of TNEB at Mettur.
The total contract value of the project was Rs 3,100.06 crore, Company Chairman and Managing Directory B G Raghupathy told newspersons here today.
The scope of work comprises design, engineering, supply of boiler, steam turbine generator and complete balance of plant equipment inclusive of all mechanical, electrical,instrumentation and control systems and civil, structural and architectural works, necessary for putting into commercial operation on engineering and EPC basis, he added.
He said earlier,the TNEB had pre-qualified the bidders for the project through international competitive bidding.
''With this order, the company had successfuly forayed into EPC contract segment for large projects of 500 MW and above with the likes of BHEL and Reliance Infrastructure,'' he claimed.
Mr Raghupathy said the 600 MW plant was to be completed in a period of 39 months.
"This project will have 400 and 220 KV Gas Insulated Sub-Station and also includes river water intake pump house and a pipe bridge across River Cauvery," he added.
