Anticipatory bail of Excise official rejected
Patna, July 1 (UNI) A local court today rejected an anticipatory bail petition an Excise official, Lalan Prasad, in connection with amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
CBI special judge Ramshreshta Rai rejected the bail prayer after hearing arguments of both the petitioner and the prosecution.
According to the charges, Prasad had amassed the assets worth Rs 14.36 lakh during the period of 1984-2001 in different capacities in the Excise department.
The CBI had submitted chargesheet on October 30, 2007.
