15 gm cocaine seized from Kenyan student

Chennai, Jul 1 (UNI) The South Zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau today arrested a Kenyan student and seized 15 gms of cocaine from him.

An official release here said based on specific information, sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau mounted surveillance at a courier office in Alandur in the city and intercepted the student Josephat M Mugo (29) and seized the contraband.

He was taking delivery of a consignment, containing 15 gms of cocaine concealed in 15 paper pouches kept in a black leather cover, when the sleuths arrested him.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Mugo is a student from Kenya African Students Association and is working as commission agent in a technology firm in the city, the release said.

The contraband has been dispatched from Hyderabad and purported to be meant for local sales in the city.
