Three police personnel killed in landmine explosion
Ranchi, Jun 30 (UNI) Three policemen, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police, were killed and four constables injured in a landmine explosion by Naxalites in Pundidiric under Tamar Police Station in Ranchi district of Jharkhand today.
A police team, led by DSP Pramode Kumar, from Bundu Police Station was carrying out a raid after being tipped off that some naxalites were hiding near Lungtudu hills.
While returning as they crossed the culvert, landmines exploded at 1630 hours blowing away the vehicle in which the patrol team was travelling.
All the three died on the spot, police spokesperson R K Mullick said adding the injured were admitted to a hospital.
