State govt clears 65 industrial projects
Bangalore, Jun 30: Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani said that his department had cleared 65 projects worth Rs 1062 crore in 14 sectors including automobile, IT and tourism.
Speaking to reporters he said all the projects with less than Rs 50 crore capital were cleared by the Single Window Committee which had a potential to create about 29,000 jobs.
"The Flight Training Centre in Mysore and hi-tech hospitals in Bidar, Gulbarga, Bijapur, Davanagere and Mangalore are the main proposals of the projects cleared on June 28," he said.
He said the next meeting of the Single Window Committee was planned in the second week of next month and it is likely to clear more than 35 projects in the category of less than Rs 50 crore.
The investment of Rs 350 crore in the IT sector was the highest followed by Rs 208 crore in tourism, he said.
To a question, he said that according to a RBI survey the state had more than 38,000 sick units across small, medium and major industry sectors.
