New Delhi, Jun 30 (UNI) The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today termed the announcement of the Delhi Chief Minister granting provisional certificates to all unauthorised colonies in the National Capital an election stunt.
The BJP said Delhi's Master Plan contained no such provision of granting 'provisional certificates' to the unauthorised colonies.
''Had Ms Dikshit been serious to give relief to these colonies, she would have made an immediate declaration to regularise these colonies without charging any fees...the announcement granting provisional certificates in itself shows that the Dikshit government is once again deceiving 50 lakh residents of these colonies,'' claimed BJP national general secretary Vijay Goel.
He said while only 1409 colonies have submitted applications for regularisation, the government has claimed that all the unauthorised colonies (a total of 1639) settled upto July 1, 2002 would be regularised.
''This is a mere effort to divert the attention of the common man from the rising inflation...people understand this and the Congress will not get any benefit from it in the coming elections,'' he added.
