Melbourne, June 30 : A British man, who had put his entire life on sale at eBay, won a bid of 399,300 dollars- much below the 500,000 dollars he was hoping for.

Ian Usher had launched an auction of his home, vehicles, furniture, the prospect of a job and access to friends to start afresh after splitting with wife.

Usher said he had not yet found out who the buyer was.

"I'm trying to find some time to get on the computer and check it out ... I haven't looked (up) anything about them yet," News.com.au quoted, him as saying.

The seven-day bidding had opened last Sunday with numerous bogus buyers raising the price to more than 2 million dollars, but the British immigrant says he is still happy with the final figure.

He said on his website, "Despite my life being busy and fulfilled, I still miss my wife."

"I intend to walk out of my front door with my wallet in one pocket and my passport in the other, nothing else at all, and get on the train, with no idea where I am going or what the future holds for me," he added.
