Over 3.76 lakh yartris visit holy Amarnath cave, Sharma

Srinagar, Jun 30 (UNI) About 15000 to 20000 pilgrims are visiting holy Amarnath cave daily, Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma said today.

He said over 3.76 lakh yatris have had darshan of the holy Shivlingam till date from June 18.

Mr Sharma said that yatra arrangements are being handled by the state government while other religious activities are looked after by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) itself.

He appealed to the people to remain calm and help restoring normalcy as the SASB land issue has been amicably solved by the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and the Governor N N Vohra.

He said the disturbance caused due to disinformation campaign by some vested interests has given big jolt to tourist industry and other economic activities.

Mr Sharma lauded the role of Kashmiri people for organizing free langers for yatris at various places during the Kashmir bandh.

He also appreciated the statements of Syed Ali Shah Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Kashmiri Leaders regarding the peaceful conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
