Lorry operators protest petroleum hike
Kolhapur, June 30 (UNI) Lorry operators in the district today took out a ''morcha'' to the district collectorate demanding withdrawal of the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices.
They gathered in the city's Bhavani Mandap area and marched to the district collectorate, while raising slogans against the hike.
The leaders Subhash Jadhav and Vijay Devane later met the collector and submitted a memorandum listing their demands.
The ''morcha'' was organised by the Kolhapur District Lorry Operators Association (KDLOA) as a part of the July 2 nation-wide agitation called by the All India Transport Congress and the Maharashtra State Truck, Tempo, Trucker, and Bus Transort Mahasangh.
