Honda to enter high-end segment by Mar '09, rolls out 125cc bike

New Delhi, Jun 30 (UNI) On the lines of Ducati and Yamaha, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) today said it plans to enter into the high-end bike segment (above 800cc) by end of this fiscal.

''We plan to roll out our much-awaited high-end bikes of 800cc plus by the end of this financial year,'' company President and CEO Shinji Aoyama told reporters here on the sidelines of the launch of its 125cc 'CBF Stunner' bike.

The bike will be Completely Built Unit (CBU) and added that the price would be roughly above Rs 10 lakh.

Meanwhile, the company Divisional Head (Sales and Marketing) N K Rattan said the company plans to introduce CBR1000 by the end of this financial year.

Commenting on the newly launched bike 'CBF Stunner,'' Mr Aoyama said, ''We are targeting the youth as there is a huge demand from among them.'' He said the company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company Ltd, aims to sell 80,000 units by the end of this fiscal.

CBF Stunner are available in three variants -- Self Disc Alloy (Rs 51,655), Self Drum Alloy (Rs 49,820) and Kick Drum Alloy (Rs 47,070).

The bike is available in two colours Sports Red and Black.
