Hindu Businessline's Delhi Bureau Chief dies
New Delhi, Jun 30 (UNI) Alok Mukherjee, Associate editor and Delhi Chief of Bureau of The Hindu Business Line newspaper, died this morning after a brief illness.
Mukherjee was 50 and is survived by his wife Sharmistha.
An alumnus of St Columbus School and Kirorimal College, New Delhi, Mukherjee began his journalism career in 1979 when he joined the Financial Express. He later joined The Hindu where he covered the Finance and Commerce Ministry beats. He took over as Chief of Bureau of Businessline in 2005.
He was cremated at the Nigambodh Ghat crematorium here.
