Congress worker killed in attack by TDP cadres

Hyderabad, Jun 30 (UNI) A Congress worker was killed and two others seriously injured in an attack by suspected Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers today near Chakali Rajavemula village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, about 200 km from the city.

Police said the three Congress workers, close aides of Allagadda Congress MLA G Praptap Reddy, were proceeding from Dornipadu to Kottapalli when the suspected TDP cadres attacked them with sickles after dashing their two-wheeler with a car.

While one Dastagiri Reddy was killed on the spot, the two other Congressmen Hussain Reddy and Prasad Reddy were admitted to a hospital in Allagadda town.

Police suspected that the TDP cadres attacked the Congressmen to take revenge of the killing of TDP leader K Venkatappa Naidu recently in the same district.
