Congress cadres to seek more powers for Chief Minister
Puducherry, June 30 (UNI) With the AICC reportedly stating that it has no intention to remove Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy immediately, his supporters in the Congress party are taking pains to seek powers for him from the High Command to carry out a cabinet reshuffle.
According to party sources who preferred anonimity, Mr Rangasamy's supporters in the party had drafted a letter to Mrs Sonia Gandhi in this regard. They are also getting the signatures of party cadres expressing support to Mr Rangasamy.
The letter would be sent to Mrs Gandhi shortly, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the ministers who were camping in New Delhi have rushed to Kochi to attend the marriage of the daughter of Mrs Sonia Gandhi's secretary. Mr Rangasamy also airdashed to Kochi this morning.
It is not immediately known whether the ministers would go back to New Delhi or return to Puducherry from Kochi.
