UP CM hikes home guard's allowance

Lucknow, Jun 30: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati increased the allowance given to home guards for maintaining vigil anywhere in the state.

Considering the demands of the homeguard over their payments, the CM has ordered to pay Rs 120 per duty against the existing Rs 100 to them, official sources said.

A homeguard's labour is equivalant to that of a police constable and more than a skilled labourer.

However, the payment made to the homeguard was less than that of skilled labourers.
