Cable TV operators lay siege to Dist Collector's office

Madurai, Jun 30 (UNI) The row between 'Sumangali Cable Vision' (SCV) owned by Maran brothers and the newly launched 'Royal Cable Vision' (RCV) of M K Azhagiri, the elder son of DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, heated up with the members of 'Media Vision Cable Television Owners and Operators Welfare Club' laying siege to the District Collector office here today.

About 150 Club members, led by Club President S Anandan, staged a slogan shouting demonstration near Anna Bus Stand here, demanding that the Centre and the State Governments exert pressure on SCV to provide decoders to RCV.

They alleged that due to SCV's ''non-cooperation,'' the viewers who switched over to RCV in Madurai and some Southern Districts were not receiving Sun TV channels.

The representatives of the Club submitted a memorandum to the District Collector and later dispersed peacefully.
