New Delhi, Jun 30 (UNI) Stating that the taking of land given to Sri Amarnath Shrine Board by Jammu and Kashmir government as a 'huge setback' to secularism in the country, the BJP today said the party leadership will meet here to take stock of the situation and strategise its action plan.

Senior BJP leader and former BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu said both, Centre and state governments had buckled under the pressures of fundamentalists and divisive forces by revoking the land allotted to the Shrine Board for providing logistical support to pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine.

The Congress will have to pay a heavy price for this deed as it had to do it in the case of Shahbanu case, he said.

The meeting of the BJP office bearers tomorrow assumes significance in the light of BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani threatening to make Amarnath a major issue in the coming Lok Sabha polls, while BJP President Rajnath Singh stated that the protests against the decision would not be confined within the boundaries of Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi lamented that the Jammu and Kashmir government had lost a golden opportunity to provide healing touch to the minority Hindus in the state.

It was totally unfortunate that Congress and its coalition partner PDP had used the issue to polarise voters by misleading the peace loving people of the state. The troubles witnessed in the state was undoubtedly orchestrated by the 'masters' of divisive forces from across the borders, Mr Naqvi added.
