AP govt to announce Human Resources policy
Hyderabad, Jun 30 (UNI) In the first such move in the country, Andhra Pradesh government will announce a Human Resources Policy for the staff implementing the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and the 'Indira Kranthi Patham' (IKP) Scheme.
State Rural Development minister G Chinna Reddy told newspersons here today that the policy which will facilitate maternity, leave and other benefits on a par with government employees, would be unveiled by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy next month.
He said instructions had been given to take up the works under NREGS only if labourers demanded work on account of non-availability of work in the farm sector.
The Chief Minister was fully committed to deliver rights and entitlements guaranteed to wage seekers under the NREGS without any compromise, he said, adding the District Collectors have been directed to prepare EGS calendar of works, hold meetings at the village level, involving labourers, farmers and Peoples' representatives.
So far, Rs 3,795 crore was spent under the NREGS in the state to provide jobs to 1.10 crore labourers, he said.
